biofresh – leading innovators in fresh produce storage technology – has announced the appointment of Nathan Follows as Senior Sales Executive, in response to growing demand for the company’s ethylene and ozone control systems.

Nathan has joined the company at a time when the food industry is looking closely at residue-free alternatives in crop storage. He will be working closely with customers throughout the supply chain to offer additional technical and practical advice on the installation of biofresh systems and after sales service and support.

biofresh Managing Director, Richard Barnes, explains: “Nathan is an integral part of our customer service team. His role will include working with growers, distributors and retailers to offer fresh produce storage solutions. Our product range includes ethylene systems for the suppression of potato sprouting and ozone systems to extend the life of fresh fruit and vegetables. Nathan’s appointment is another important stage in our developing service commitment to our customers. For example, his activity will complement our new ethylene advice service to the potato industry. With our partner, Air Products (who supply the ethylene gas used in our systems), we offer free advice on all issues concerning the use of ethylene. This includes full technical advice, potato store surveys and no obligation assessments and quotations. We are also able to take away any confusion that surrounds the ongoing process of EC approvals and subsequent ethylene licensing requirements. Our leading involvement at all levels in the approvals process means we can give professional guidance to any grower or distributor who is considering investing in our systems.”

With a wealth of agro-chemical knowledge and commercial sales experience, Nathan began his career gaining an MSc in Crop Protection, followed by the achievement of industry-standard qualification, BASIS. He has worked for a number of leading organisations including multi-national chemical manufacturing company, BASF.

Nathan said: “It’s a great opportunity to be able to work for a cutting edge technology company within the food storage industry – especially at a time when the market is increasingly demanding safer, more ethical methods of storage. With the growing demand for residue-free food storage techniques, I am looking forward to offering biofresh solutions throughout the supply chain.”
